Sun is good, sun and clouds are better! Everything sunlit is fine, but tends to look flat. Low morning and evening sun helps by side lighting everything and casting shadows. Clouds are a pain when they cast shadows on the wrong hills, but great when they darken the right ones. You just have to wait and keep taking shots as the clouds move. I only had to wait a few minutes for this one, but I've sometimes waited over an hour and still not got 'the one'. Autumn colour in the nearby bracken and trees leads to Offerton edge to the left, whose horizon is all in shadow. Top right you can see the ridge from Losehill to Mam Tor in bright sunlight, with Kinder Scout and Bleaklow in shadow again in the far distance.
